GET UP AND BOOGIE FOR A CAUSE

Submitted by Doug Saunders

The Enforcers and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton are holding a spring dance April 27, at the Armoury in Lindsay.

For the 10th year, the band is supporting the efforts of the local organization that provides mentorship programs for area kids in need of the guidance that  results from solid partnerships with adults.

Many people feel a bit tapped out donating to all the many, worthy causes in their community. This dance though, is a fun way to support this cause and have a super fun time all at once.

The Enforcers and The Bigs give deep thanks to the tremendous response from local businesses in the form of sponsorships and door prizes that make the evening possible and exciting for those attending. We greatly appreciate all the media coverage that helps us inform everyone of this terrific evening.

Over the years, the event has developed a large following and people love to return for what they know will be an exceptionally good time. For those attending for the first time, get ready for a night of great music and fun.

The music is a mix of familiar songs from the decades and includes blues, boogie, R&B, Motown, Reggae and a dash of country. If you love to dance, the floor fills up from the first notes played until last call. If you enjoy simply listening, Ron Lister provides an amazing sound/light system and brings his professional mixing talents along to please your ears.

Food will be available for purchase from Sugar and Spice.

Doors open on this age of majority event at 8pm and the dance goes until around 1am.

Tickets are $15 each and are available from The Bigs (705-324-6800) at A Buy and Sell Shop and Boiling Over Coffee Vault, as well as at the door.
