PUBLIC MEETING ABOUT CANAL STREET RECONSTRUCTION
In order to maintain and upgrade existing infrastructure, a detailed design has been created for the reconstruction of Canal Street in the Village of Bobcaygeon, between Sherwood Street and East Street. The scope of the project will include replacements of water mains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and new asphalt.
The proposed design has been completed through the project’s consultant, WSP Canada Group Limited. The design includes not only infrastructure repair, but looking at proposed improvements to elements such as parking, turning lanes, pedestrian access and walkway enhancements
Public meeting details
There will be an open house meeting held on Thursday, November 21 for residents to drop in to review the design concept and speak with members of the project team. The meeting will be from 4pm to 6pm, with a formal presentation at 4:30pm, held in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Service Centre located at 123 East Street South in Bobcaygeon.
The process
The project is being planned in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process. The project is being carried out as Schedule A+ and is thereby pre-approved under the Class EA. The City of Kawartha Lakes intends to proceed immediately with the design of the project
