COMMUNITY RESPONDS TO CALL FOR EMERGENCY SUPPLIES

Kawartha Lakes Paramedics would like to thank all who have responded to the emergency procurement request on March 23 for personal protective equipment. The overwhelming response has resulted in a wave of supplies that are being used to protect Paramedics and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Many individuals have kindly come forward with donations of supplies. At risk of missing someone or exposing personal information, we are sending a collective “Thank you” to everyone who has stepped forward in the last few days.

“We are overwhelmed by the response from the community to our request. Many, many thanks. As we continue to fight the spread of COVID-19, we ask that anyone with the supplies listed come forward,” commented Chief Rafton, Kawartha Lakes Paramedics.

The following companies have also generously supplied gloves, masks, sanitizer, hazardous suits and face shields:

The following supplies are still needed:

* N95 Masks – 3M1870+, 3M9210+ and 3M9211+

* Surgical Gowns –disposable, elasticized cuffs, cover front and back with ties to fasten and be fluid resistant

* Face Shields – need to cover the entire face, manufactured of a clear, anti-fog material, disposable, adjustable, be capable of being worn over eye glasses

* Hand Sanitizer – be a minimum of 99.0% effective against a broad range of bacteria, be alcohol based with a minimum concentration 60%, be available in personal size containers
