TWO MORE CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID-19 IN THE PETERBOROUGH AREA
Peterborough Public Health has confirmed two more positive cases of COVID-19 in the Peterborough area, bringing the number to five confirmed cases within the City of Peterborough, Peterborough County and the First Nations of Curve Lake and Hiawatha.
Dr. Rosana Salvaterra, Medical Officer of Health, said both cases involved travel outside the area — a woman who recently returned from Florida and a man who recently returned from a bonspiel in Edmonton. Five people who came in close contact with the woman are being tested.
The City and County of Peterborough declared a state of emergency yesterday in response to the pandemic. We are being asked to stay home and, if we have to go out for essential supplies like medications and groceries, to maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres or 6 feet.
