The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) and Omemee Medical Centre are pleased to announce that Dr. Satvir Sahans will be joining the clinic, as of August 1, 2019.

Dr. Sahans attended Simon Fraser University in British Columbia for his Bachelor of Science Degree. He completed his Medical Degree at the University of Queensland in 2015 and Family Medicine Residency at the University of Toronto in 2018. Dr. Sahans will be accepting new patients through Health Care Connect. “My wife, Nimret, and I are looking forward to living in the Kawartha Lakes and exploring all that this area has to offer. I am also looking forward to getting to know my patients and the staff at the Omemee Medical Centre,” says Dr. Sahans.

“It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Sahans when he was here as part of his Residency training last year. Having him choose to practice at the Omemee Medical Centre is a wonderful result of his training locally. I look forward to continuing to assist him, and his wife, as they settle into our community,” states Cindy Snider, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator for KLHCI.

Barry Marr, President of the Omemee Medical Centre, states that, “we are very pleased to welcome Dr. Sahans to the medical centre. We believe he will fit well into our community.”

Barbara van der Veen, President of KLHCI, states that, “KLHCI is thrilled to welcome Dr. Sahans and his wife to the City of Kawartha Lakes and we wish them many years of satisfaction, both personally and professionally, within our community.”

Dr. Sahans will join the doctors of the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team. Local doctors work with the team’s nurse practitioners, family health nurses, dietician, pharmacists, psychologist, clinical social workers, occupational therapist and respiratory therapist to provide patients with complete health care. The family health team also partners with local health organizations and offers a variety of health programs designed to help keep residents healthy.

“We are very pleased Dr. Sahans is joining our family health team,” states Dr. Eric Ready, Chairman of the Board of the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team and the team’s Executive Director, Mike Perry. “His patients will have access to all of our team’s other health professionals in order to help Dr. Sahans to provide the highest quality of care to patients of Omemee and area.”
