MAYOR DOES NOT SPEAK FOR COUNCIL

By Deb Crossen

During a recent interview with Trent Lakes Mayor Janet Clarkson, our political writer Kirk Winter asked about the proposal from Rockridge Quarry to operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We wrote an article based on this interview that was posted on our website and shared on Facebook

In one paragraph, the Mayor responded that “there will be unanimous opposition from all five members of Council to that proposal.”

We received an email from the Mayor after the story went 'live', saying “I have been told quite correctly that I should not speak for Council. This is solely my own view.”
