Respected Doctor Killed in Collision

Dr. Ali Al-Beer, an respected orthopedic surgeon at Ross Memorial Hospital was killed in a collision in Clarington on January 23.

He was fatally injured in a two-vehicle collision on Regional Road 20, after a commercial dump truck lost control, sending the attached trailer into opposing traffic. Dr. Al-Beer was driving home from work when the collision occurred.

Dr. Al-Beer, 49, was the Hospital's former chief of surgery after joining the team in August 2011.
